In collaboration with Fazio Architects of Austin, Texas, this personal service building serves as the new home of McFarlane Family Dental. The two-storey facility has an approximate gross floor area of 8,995 square feet (836 square metres). The building program includes reception and waiting areas, administrative offices, an elevator, treatment and consultation rooms, laboratories, sterilization areas, washrooms, surgical suites, service rooms, staff areas, and utility spaces.
The structural system comprises cast-in-place reinforced concrete footings, foundations, and piers; exterior load-bearing wood-framed walls, and interior load-bearing steel columns and beams. Floor assemblies include an insulated concrete slab-on-grade, pre-engineered wood floor truss systems with concrete topping, and a pre-engineered wood truss roof system.
